K2 Enters a Partnership with the Richmond County Animal Shelter

The mission of the Richmond County Animal Shelter is to facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted animals into desirable homes and to establish and maintain associated policies and procedures that promote the health, care and handling of sheltered animals.

K2 Solutions, Inc. (K2), a global defense and threat mitigation company with significant canine expertise, has entered into a partnership with the Richmond County Animal Shelter to further serve the local community and support the shelter's mission.

K2’s Canine Training Center (CTC) was established in Richmond County in 2009 and is comprised of 125-acres with multiple training facilities and the ability to house up to 320 canines at any time.  K2's CTC is also a Certified United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Welfare Act (AWA) Registered Class R Research Facility. K2 has been a member of the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce since 2010, and has employed scores of Richmond County residents over the last 11 years.

As of July 1, 2021, K2 will assume all management responsibilities at the Richmond County Shelter, providing knowledgeable oversight and management to find desirable homes for animals, and continue the Shelter's service to the community. K2 recognizes the level of effort and commitment that Richmond County has devoted to the Richmond County Animal Shelter and we intend to build on their accomplishments.

The Richmond County Animal Shelter will continue to accept donations and volunteer services from the community.
