K2 Solutions Achieves Certification for TSA Third-Party Canine Cargo Screening
Today, K2 Solutions, Inc., a global defense and threat mitigation company, was approved by the TSA as a Certified Cargo Screening Facility-Canine (CCSF-K9) under the TSA’s new Certified Cargo Screening Program-Canine (CCSP-K9).
The Certified Cargo Screening Program-Canine was introduced by the TSA to provide a more efficient and effective way to screen air cargo. Under this program, explosives detection canine teams are certified to TSA standards by a non-government entity, acting with the approval of the TSA. Third Party Canine-Cargo (3PK9-C) certified canine teams are authorized to screen cargo for TSA-regulated parties, such as aircraft operators, foreign air carriers, and freight forwarders.
To-date, K2 has completed certification for 18 Third Party Canine-Cargo teams, with 20 additional teams expected to certify next week. Canine handler teams are strategically placed through-out the United States in support of the Air Cargo Industry. Currently, K2 has more than 70 teams providing Explosives Detection Services throughout the United States.
In addition to being TSA Third Party Canine-Cargo certified, K2’s canine handler teams are third-party certified through the International Police Work Dog Association. K2 also holds a Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation for Single-Purpose explosive detection dogs.
K2 specializes in canine security screening with a focus on explosives detection in support of critical cargo, high-profile events and overseas operations in areas of high-threat.
