TSA Certified Cargo Screening Facility Canine
K2 provides screening for complex cargo configurations under the Transportation Security Administration’s Certified Cargo Security Program-Canine (CCSP-K9). K2 became a Certified Cargo Screening Facility Canine (CCSF-K9) in early 2019.

Third-Party Certified
Upon completion of K2’s Canine Handler Course, Teams are certified in an operational environment through third-party organizations, including a TSA certified entity, and the non-profit International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA).

Teams are certified in the following disciplines: odor recognition and screening in an operational environment (warehouses, luggage / parcels, mail, cargo configurations, open areas, motor vehicles, and mass transit vehicles).

DHS SAFETY Act Designated
K2 maintains two distinct Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designations that are applicable to the cargo screening environment.

  • Our first is a SAFETY Act Designation for our TSA Certified Cargo Screening Facility Canine (CCSF-K9) certification.

  • Our second is a SAFETY Act Designation for canine explosive detection. This includes cargo searches outside of the CCSP-K9 for unregulated situations.

K2’s Designations extend liability protection to the buyer regardless of whether or not services are performed at a regulated entity.

In compliance with TSA’s CCSP-K9, our Canine Handler Teams capture screening activities in real-time, in high-definition. Video is stored on a secure, encrypted cloud-based database.
